RAISING A MATH GENIUS (A MESSAGE FOR PARENTS)
RAISIN A MATH GENIUS- A MUST RED FOR PARENTSAs math teacher for so many years, I have always believed parents have a great to play if they actually want their children to do very well in math. So many parents had (unknown to them) laid a very poor foundation for their children in math. I am going to list here here below what parents have to do to ensure a great math future for their children.
1. Introduce math principle to children at early age: Parents are expected to introduce math principle to their children at a very young age. Basics like counting, addition, subtraction and so on can be introduced to these children at this young age. Real life objects can be used for this purpose.
2. Make use of math charts: Math charts can be placed at strategic positions in the home. The more these children see these charts the more they get interested in math principles.
3. Let them play useful math games: Parents should ensure they introduce useful math games to their children. I have always believed games are good teachers of children. The children love to play games, so why can't you make them play math games.
4. Show interest in their math progress: Most parents don't show interest in their children's math progress. They believe since they did not do very well in math during their school days, there is nothing they can do to help their children. You don't have to be a math teacher before you can give attention to your child when he or she needs help in math. You can get help immediately if it is something you can't handle.
