Foster Care Families
Many couples or even single people opt in for the foster care program. Its a government run program that offers people to take care of children, often temporarily. These can also be adults with disabilities or over the legal age but are having troubles with their life.
If you’re considering fostering a child you will have to go through an extensive process to make sure the child will be safe, cared for and financially stable. Once these preliminary checks are successful the family will be certified and can begin to foster children. Although this is a government sponsored program there are private agencies that can provide foster care but these must meet government regulations and pass certain requirements. Fostercare givers are rarely recognized for doing such a good deed out of the kindness of their hearts as they often end up spending their own hard earned money and time by devoting it to the lesser fortunate children in our society who need a place to live and more importantly, the love they deserve.
The main downside with foster care is when the parents get to attached to the child. It may not be a permanent situation, the children can be returned to their biological parents or moved to a different foster family, this can be a tough time for the child as well as the parents who have cared for them and took them in as their own.
Foster homes can also be used as a place to stay and get cared for until the child gets adopted by a permanent family, its often seen that foster parents adopt the child they have been taking care of if they have had a special bond with them as it would be torture to watch them move into a different family and start all over again.
